Today, we are rolling out product tagging in Instagram Reels via third-party partner platforms.
We’re always looking to improve our content publishing and consumption experiences, whether people use Instagram natively, or via a third-party platform. Earlier this year, we launched product tagging in Feed (photos and carousel posts) and we’re now expanding the Product Tagging API to Reels.
Enabling product tagging via the Instagram API reduces product tagging friction by meeting sellers where they are directly in their workflows. And, using product tagging in Reels allows brands to drive product discovery with engaging short-form video while responding to product trends and embedding their brands in culture. This functionality is fully integrated with partners including Dash Hudson, Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social, and Sprinklr and is now available for integration by any other Content Publishing API partner.
Please note these capabilities will be available for all Graph API versions. Additionally, if app review for the Product Tagging and Content Publishing API has been requested and approved, no additional permissions will be required.
