Last year we introduced call-to-action units CTAs, prompting readers to like a publisher’s page or sign up for an email newsletter from within an Instant Article.
Today, we're launching a new placement and design for the email sign-up CTA — a full screen design that appears between horizontal swipes in the carousel of more articles from the same publisher. The unit will feature publishers' branding, including color and content. We've seen in testing that the new design and placement of this unit drives additional email sign ups for publishers.
This full-screen unit works exactly the same way as the existing email sign-up CTA units. Readers who submit their email directly through this form agree to receive email updates from your publication.
If you don't currently use email sign-up CTA's in your Instant Articles, you can create these units easily by following the instructions here. If you've already set up the email sign-up CTA's in the body of your articles, this new placement and design will be automatically placed starting today. You can always turn it off by following the instructions here.
We look forward to identifying additional opportunities to drive deeper engagement and build relationships between publishers and their readers on Facebook.
