How to Win
Any FbStart member is eligible to participate in the competition. The Apps of the Year competition will only accept submissions for native iOS or Android mobile apps. Entries are judged based on the following criteria:
Mobile Apps
Growth and engagement: Is the app growing quickly? Has the app entered new markets, or done a good job retaining new customers? Does the app demonstrate growth potential?
Efficiency at scale: How does the app use Facebook or other third-party tools to make app development and iteration efficient?
Experience and design: Is the design optimized for the best customer experience? Does it have a streamlined look and feel?
Leveraging Facebook: Are Facebook developer products an integral part of the app? Do they improve any of the above three areas?

This is a closed contest, open only to existing FbStart participants in good standing or those who apply to the program no later than April 15, 2017 and are accepted and in good standing in sole discretion of Sponsor. Must be at least the age of majority. Finalists will be required to submit additional content during a timeframe to be determined by Sponsor between May 31, 2017 and July 1, 2017. Void where prohibited by law. SUBJECT TO FULL OFFICIAL RULES, which include important app requirements. Judging criteria are listed above, and entries will also be judged on their potential or actual positive impact on society for the Social Good App of the Year prize. How do I apply?

Who is eligible to participate in the FbStart Apps of the Year competition?
Any FbStart member is eligible to participate in the Apps of the Year competition. If you are not a member of FbStart, you must apply to FbStart by April 15, 2017 in order to be considered for the awards. Once admitted to the program, you will need to then submit an application to be considered for Apps of the year.
Am I able to participate in this competition if I am building a bot for Messenger?
Our focus for this competition is for only native iOS and Android mobile apps. However, we're dedicated to building opportunities to showcase the great work of our bot developers. Stay tuned for future competitions and experiences tailored specifically for our bot community!
What criteria do you use to judge the winners of the Apps of the Year competition?
We will judge entries on the following criteria:
