About max price

When you set a maximum price, you set the ceiling (the most you’re willing to pay) per delivered message. You pay your max price or lower per message delivered. With max price, you can:
  • Maintain delivery rates similar to current WhatsApp marketing campaigns while potentially lowering costs
  • Spend less per message and target a broader range of WhatsApp user cohorts (Re-engage dormant or lapsed audiences at a max price lower than the fixed published rate, so reaching these audiences is more economical.)
  • Maximize delivery in peak moments for your most valuable WhatsApp users (Some high-demand WhatsApp users are competitive to reach; by setting a higher max price to reach these users, you can increase delivery rates.)

Set a template’s pricing

To set pricing when you create or edit a marketing message template:
  1. In WhatsApp Manager, go to Templates > Manage templates and select Create template, or edit an eligible template.
  2. Select the Marketing category and continue to Edit template.
  3. In the Pricing section, select one of the following options:
    • Set maximum price — Select the country where most recipients are located to see a suggested maximum price, and then enter your Maximum price per 1,000 message deliveries. The Estimated results panel updates with projected cost and delivery.
    • Use default price — Your business is charged the published rate for the country where each WhatsApp user is located. You don’t need to select a country or enter an amount.

View estimated results

When you select Set maximum price, the Estimated results panel displays:
  • Estimated cost per 1,000 people
  • Estimated delivery per 1,000 people
The estimates use historical Marketing Messages API data for the values you enter. Select a time window, such as Based on the last 7 days, to control the data used for the estimate. Actual results can vary.

View pricing in Manage templates

The Pricing column in the Manage templates table displays each template’s pricing:
  • $X.XX · Maximum price — The template has a maximum price. The amount is shown per 1,000 delivered messages.
  • Varies by country · Default price — The template uses the published rate for each recipient’s country.
Use the information icon in the column heading to learn how each value is charged.
