To assign roles and build your Instant Articles team, you can set up Business Manager—a Meta tool for managing your Pages. This tool governs who has access to your Page(s) and which administrative and publishing permissions each person has. Learn more about Business Manager, adding and sharing assets and managing roles and permissons with Blueprint.
If you would prefer not to use Business Manager, you can still publish Instant Articles.
To begin, find out if your organization has a Business Manager account. If you're not sure whether or not your organization has a Business Manager account: ask your social media team or your advertising team (if your organization runs ads on Facebook). These are the people who are most likely to have access to your organization's Business Manager account. For privacy reasons, we can't give you access to your organization’s Business Manager account or tell you the names of the existing admins.
The steps below provide an overview of the entire Business Manager setup process. If your organization already has an account, skip the first step.
Locate your organization's Business Manager account, and only if your organization doesn't have one, create a new account.
Add the Page(s) associated with your Instant Articles feed to your Business Manager account. In most cases, this will be your organization's main Facebook page.
Use Business Manager or your direct Page(s) to access the consuls where you can configure and manage Instant Articles.
If you don't already have a Business Manager account for your Page(s), here's how to create one:
For organizations managing multiple publications, we recommend that you create just one Business Manager account for your organization and add employees and Pages that represent all of your publications. However, if you would prefer to create separate Business Manager accounts for each publication, you are welcome to do so.
Once you have a Business Manager, add Pages you own to the account.
You must be a Business Manager Admin to add Pages.
To add a Page to your Business Manager:
Anyone who had access to the Page before it was added to Business Manager is still able to access and manage the Page.
Once you have a Business Manager account for your Page(s), you can add people and give them access to it and to the Page(s) in it.
You must be a Business Manager Admin to add Pages.
Step 1. Add People to Business Manager Step 2. Add People & Assign Roles Step 3. Assign Pages Step 4. Skip Ad Account Settings Step 5. Skip Instant Articles Settings Step 6. Email Confirmation
On the page that follows, select the Page(s) you want to assign and choose a role for the person.
We recommend selecting the Analyst role for team members who build an Instant Articles feed (for example: product manager, engineers, and designers). This role provides access to the Instant Articles tools, without allowing permission to publish posts to the Page.
To learn more about permissions for each role, in the dropdown menu, select Learn About Roles.
Click Skip on the page that follows. For Instant Articles access, you don't need to set up an Ad Account in Business Manager.
Click Skip again on the page that follows. For access to Instant Articles, you don't need to select any Catalogs in Business Manager.
The people you added will receive an email informing them of their new role(s) on your Page(s). They will be prompted to verify their name and identity with a Facebook email and password.
