Facebook Audience Network Policy

1. Build a quality product

  1. Don’t integrate or display ads in apps or sites containing content that is illegal, misleading or deceptive, or that promotes regulated goods, pornography, adult products or services, casual dating, violence, weapon sales, online real money games of chance or skill, work-at-home schemes, spy cameras, fake news or anything that falls within any other categories that are prohibited by the Facebook Community Standards, with the exception of apps or sites that display news editorials featuring the above content or if you have our prior written permission.

  2. Don’t disseminate spyware, malware, or any software that results in an unexpected or deceptive experience. This includes links to sites containing these products.

  3. Ensure the ad call always contains accurate information about your approved app or site. This includes but is not limited to placement size and top-level URL.

  4. Don’t remove, obscure, or minimize any ad in any way without our written permission.

  5. Don’t edit, modify, filter, truncate or change the order of the information contained in any ad without our written permission.

  6. Don’t "crawl", "spider", index or in any non-transitory manner store or cache information obtained from any ads.

  7. Include a privacy policy that adequately discloses your privacy practices.

  8. Ensure you follow the design guidelines for Audience Network Ads.

  9. Comply with all applicable laws and adhere to our developer's guidance.

2. Give people control

  1. Don’t place ads where people are likely to accidentally click (ex: placing ads where people randomly click or place their fingers, such as near buttons).

  2. Don’t include ads that cover up or hide any area of interest during typical interaction.

  3. Ensure ads are clearly distinguishable from other content within your app.

  4. Don't interfere with the interface flow resulting from ad interaction or suppress views that pop-up as a result of such interaction.

  5. Ensure that clicking an ad is not the only way to exit a screen.

3. Encourage proper use

  1. Don't use Audience Network unless you either own or operate the sites and apps or the owner of the sites and apps has given you exclusive third-party rights to monetize the inventory, or have our prior written permission.

  2. Don’t artificially inflate clicks or impressions on ads through any automated, deceptive, fraudulent or other invalid means (ex: through repeated manual clicks or the use of bots).

  3. Don’t stack multiple ads in a single ad placement.

  4. Don't direct people to pages where they do not express an intent to be directed.

  5. Don’t make deceptive claims that encourage or mislead people into clicking on ads.

  6. Ensure compliance with the U.S. Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). You must also comply with our usage notes.

  7. Don't incentivize people to click on an ad, or give the impression that clicking on an ad will be rewarded.

  8. Don't encourage people to install programs that inject ads.

4. Things you should know

  1. We reserve the right to reject, approve or remove any Publisher or app or site for any reason, in our sole discretion, including Publishers and apps and sites that negatively affect our relationship with our users or that promote content, services, or activities, contrary to our competitive position, interests, or advertising philosophy. These guidelines are subject to change at any time.

  2. Audience Network is only available to apps offered in Apple iTunes or Google Play, unless you have our prior written approval.

  3. We analyze every impression and click for patterns of abuse. If we determine that a publisher account might pose a risk to our advertisers, we may disable that account to protect our advertisers' interests.
