Facebook - Setup

Ensure you’ve created a Business Manager account. You’ll need this to access Monetization Manager, which is the platform you’ll use to monetize with Audience Network.

A Property in Monetization Manager is a group of products with the same brand. If you have different products for different operating systems, platforms or devices, you can group them into a property for combined reporting and management in Monetization Manager.

See our quick start guide for an overview of the setup.

A platform includes app iOS and Android platforms and web domains. You’ll be asked to choose a platform when you create your Property.

Learn more using our quick start guide to setting up Monetization Manager.

Ad Spaces allow you to organize your placements to reflect what people do when they see your ads. When you first create your placement, this will automatically create an Ad space, named as “First iOS/Android Ad Space”.

Refer to our quick start guide for an overview of the setup.

A placement is a container created by an app or website publisher that can be filled with ads. It holds information about the types of ads the publisher wants to show its users, such as the ad format and the minimum price the publisher wants to be paid.

Learn more with our quick start guide.

For iOS app, the app store URL contains following format: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/apple-books/id123456789, in which “123456789” is the app id. It can be verified by following link: https://itunes.apple.com/lookup?id=id_number.

For Android app, app id will be the bundle name, for example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourdomain.appname.

To receive payments for Audience Network, you'll need to set up your payment information. Only financial admins who are also Property Managers in Monetization Manager can add or update payment information.

Learn how to create and add payment account.

The quickest way to test your integration is to test with a device. This testing lets you see both test ads and production ads. You’ll need to make sure your device is treated as a test device by our ad system and not a normal device. Find out how to do this with our guide.

We only show Audience Network ads to people with Facebook profiles. If we’re frequently not bidding on your requests for this reason, it might be because people who are visiting your platform aren't logged into Facebook or don't have tracking enabled.

See our guide to find out how to make sure AdUnisSample is running properly on the device.

Other mediation platforms

Each placement in your app or mobile website is identified using a unique placement ID. Learn more about placements IDs, including how to find it.

The app ID is the first part of the placement ID, before the underscore (_). The property ID and business ID can be found in the URL.

Use our guide to make sure you’ve created the System User in Business Manager and added to the Property.

See our guide on the Facebook for Developers site on how to validate ad requests from Charles Proxy tool.

You can use this guide to help validate ad request or responses to and from Audience Network in cases such as:

  • Hassles for adding debugging code and investigating mobile device log
  • No clues for missing ad requests or impressions from dashboard

The Ad Impression logged from notification numbers should never misalign from the Monetization Manager dashboard. However, because many ad servers and mediation platforms count impressions differently to Audience Network, the Monetization Manager dashboard may misalign with the mediation dashboard. Read our guide to learn more.

  • Ad source setup properly with FAN placement id -> placement id, FAN property id -> property id, FAN system user token -> system user token
