Insights for Facebook Effects

You can view insights to track engagement with your effects in the Facebook camera.

When insights become visible

You'll need to wait a few hours after an effect goes live to start seeing insights.

Combined insights for all effects belonging to an owner, as well as insights for individual location-targeted effects, won't become visible until they reach a certain count.

Viewing insights

To see insights for individual effects you've published to Facebook:

  1. Go to the Home page in Spark AR Hub.
  2. Click on your effect.
  3. Click on Insights on the left-hand side.

To see insights for all effects belonging to a particular owner (Facebook profile or Page):

  1. Go to the Home page in Spark AR Hub.
  2. Select the effect owner at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Insights tab underneath the effect owner.

You'll see 3 metrics - Impressions, Captures and Shares.

Insights don't include impressions of effects used in live videos or direct messages.

Impressions for Facebook effects

Impressions is the number of times an effect was shown on screen.

This includes when an effect is shown while someone is trying it out in the Facebook camera, and when the effect is displayed in a shared story or post on Facebook.

Impressions are also broken down by channel. You can see the number of times an effect was shown:

  1. In the Facebook camera - Camera impressions.
  2. In Facebook News Feed posts - News Feed impressions.
  3. In Facebook stories - Story impressions.

Captures for Facebook effects

The number of times someone captured a photo or video that featured your effect in the Facebook camera.

Shares for Facebook effects

The number of times someone took and shared a photo or video that featured your effect to a Facebook story or post.
