Create AdVerify Your App Ads Setup

Facebook Analytics helps you understand the effectiveness of your Facebook mobile app install ads. Longer term, it will support measurement of mobile app install ads on other networks through its attribution feature.

You can get breakdowns by campaign for app installs and in-app conversions in Facebook Analaytics. Additionally, you can measure lifetime value and retention by ad campaign, ad set, or ad.

App Installs by Campaign

  1. Go to www.facebook.com/analytics
  2. If you have multiple apps, select a specific app.
  3. Go to Events.
  4. Select App Installs.
  5. Go to Breakdowns.
  6. Click on the dropdown arrow next to Country and select Install Source

You will get a breakdown of installs by campaign. App Installs is based on a 28 day click attribution window.

Value by Campaign

  1. Go to www.facebook.com/analytics
  2. If you have multiple apps, select a specific app.
  3. Go to Events.
  4. Select your revenue tracking event, e.g. Purchases
  5. Go to Breakdowns.
  6. Click on the dropdown arrow next to Country and select Install Source – Campaigns

You will get a breakdown by campaign including the App Events count, value, and value / events absolute and relative value. Purchases events can be tracked for up to 2 years after the install event.

Retention for an Ad Campaign

  1. Go to www.facebook.com/analytics
  2. If you have multiple apps, select a specific app.
  3. Go to the Segments tab.
  4. Click create new.
  5. Under Define Conditions select CONDITION TYPE and choose Install Source is Facebook Ad.
  6. Click refine and select a campaign
  7. Give the segment a name and click Save.
  8. Go to Cohorts tab.
  9. Select the Install-Launch cohort
  10. Select the Segment dropdown and choose your segment that you named in step 7.

Lifetime Value for an Ad Campaign

  1. Follow the steps to create a segment in Retention by Campaign.
  2. Go to Cohorts tab.
  3. Click Create New
  4. Under Show People Who select App Install
  5. Under And then later select Purchase (or whatever you have named your revenue tracking event)
  6. Name your cohort.
  7. Click Save
  8. Change CHART TYPE to Cumulative Value
  9. Select the Segment dropdown and choose your segment that you created which contains your ad campaign.
  10. You can change the time period in the upper right corner.
  11. You can change the cohort time grouping by clicking on Daily dropdown on COHORTS and changing the time grouping to Weekly or Monthly
