Facebook Analytics offers a complete view of the customer journey across channels and devices because the data shows that people often start a task on one device and complete it on another. For example, people may research a product on their phone, but complete a purchase from a desktop computer.
Mobile apps, Facebook Pixels, Offline Event Sets and Pages use different IDs. To see unified analytics for these parts of your business, you can use event source groups. You can create an event source group in Facebook Analytics. Event source groups allow you to group these event sources, which allows you to see all of your data in Facebook Analytics. Event source groups show you omni-channel analytics - a complete view of your customer journey across channels and devices. Event source groups can also include multiple mobile apps, Pixels, Offline Event Sets and Pages. No matter how large or complex your business is, you can still get a unified view of your customers across all of your properties.
Creating an Event Source Group
Follow these steps to create an Event Source Group.
From the Facebook Analytics page, click New Event Source Group.
If you don't already have a Facebook Business Manager Account, then you'll be given an opportunity to create one.
- Choose the Business Manager Account that you want to create the new Event Source Group for, and then click Continue.
- Enter a name for your new Event Source Group.
- Select the event sources that you want to add to this group, and then click Create Group.
The New Event Source Group button is available only when there is more than one event source.
Your new Event Source Group is created, and you can now view its analytics by clicking View Analytics.
