Mohammed has always been passionate about technology and community. He has contributed to many open source projects and helped to set up multiple tech communities in Morocco including Docker Morocco, Morocco Java User Group, Casablanca Ruby Meetup, among others. He is also a steering member of Devoxx Morocco, the Devoxx chapter in Africa and MENA region.
He joined the Developer Circles family in March 2017 as the Developer Circles Casablanca Lead, and has quickly built a community of over 200 developers. His first meetup explored bots on Messenger and was attended by 80 tech enthusiasts.
Developers in Morocco are particularly interested in VR, React Native and front-end development, so Mohammed is planning to host at least one event a month exploring these areas in more detail through presentations, hands-on tech labs and roundtable discussions. For developers who are interested in being part of the community, but can’t attend meetups in person, Mohammed also runs a busy Facebook group facilitating conversations, sharing interesting tech articles, and discussing latest techniques and best practices.
Mohammed has ambitious plans for the future of Developer Circle Casablanca. In addition to growing the community and running a varied program of monthly events, he is also looking to set up a two-day conference discussing the latest technology trends and attracting 500 developers from all across the country.
