In your documentation (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/places/web/search/) it says Place Search APIs will be deprecated on August 3rd 2020, Will there be an alternate version of APIs that will be published which we can continue to use post deprecation?
Has anybody been able to find an alternative for this feature? it seems like the Places API has only been deprecated for web but it still works for Android/Ios
Also need this feature or alternative, but there is no any more available sample code for Android for Graph Places. Link gives error code 404 now. There is no any hint how /pages/search?q= endpoint works. Seems this feature is error code 404.
We have not heard of any alternative apis for this
Also looking for an answer on this. Our app uses /search?type=place and we need confirmation if an equivalent will be provided, or if we need to rework the entire feature.
I find /pages/search?q= endpoint, but it doesn't give back the same fields as the /search?type=place do. Did anyone find any solution for this?

Facebook, what are the alternatives for locating places?
We changed to GoogleMaps API. Far superior, much faster. Don’t expect a reply here. You can die of old age waiting. Facebook support sucks.

We would like to know about an alternative to this deprecation also. Our app heavily relies on the /search?type=place¢er=lat,long so looking for someone that can give an answer on how this functionality can be continued. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
