I cannot verify my business, button grayed out

Hello, I have a problem with business verification. App review page says I need to verify my business, but the button is grayed out so I cannot do it. Can you tell me what should I do to make my business verified?

I see that it is greyed out. Hmm. There is a Place to ask a direct question to the App Review team. Maybe turn on 2 step authentication. Does that make a difference?

Was there ever a solution to this? I would like to verify our business seeing we are a legitimately ran entity and have been for well over 15 years but FB seems to think otherwise as our button is greyed out and nothing I do or see can explain how to access the verification process

my business verification didnt go first time through. we were developing a mobile app business but they insisted on us having a website address. So we built a website , after which we resubmitted the documents, but there has been no answer for weeks. no customer support for business, nothing at all , i sent tens of messages on contact facebook look , absolutely a deaf ear .... atleast they could reply with a reject or some documentation missing etc ... absolutely nothing.. worst form of customer services ever, not even a single contact number ( where atleast one could wait for hours) and no live chat .. absolutely nothing..

Solution for this issue: If you have a WABA with a BSP and want to get your FB BM verified but are 'ineligible for verification'. I created a new FB BM account and did not get an option to verify the account immediately. The Security Center said 'Your business is ineligible for verification'. I searched some more and figured I need to attach some other kind of Meta accounts that needed FB BM to be verified. So I added a Whatsapp Account. In your Whatsapp Account settings, you will see Business Verification- Unverified- Start Verification

It’s currently 3:30am and I just made the mistake of checking my email and seeing we aren’t verified. We use Facebook login.

I’ve had this problem before and like some others here we have had our account for about 15 years. What I noticed before was that some of the ids in the URLs get immediately redirected to another id. As a developer, my suspicion is that they have linked some sort of ‘old id’ to a newer id when they updated some system over the years but forgotten to tell another internal team to take this into account for verification.

When I (hopefully get back to sleep) and awake I will try to create a brand new app that perhaps I won’t ever use. But that would allow the underlying business to be verified even if I continue using the old app for my Facebook login (otherwise all users would have to sign up again which would be horrendous mess).

So what happened to us before? Frankly I don’t think I ever fixed it but they weren’t being strict in checking it but now we are in violation.

Again, the key here I believe is the original app is so old that its id is redirecting. Of course most guides about these types of issues frustratingly focus on user error like blurry photos.

I tried everything you guys shared here but even after associating the app with the BM I get the message:

This business is not currently eligible for business verification Business verification is only available for businesses with apps that have started or completed App Review for certain APIs. If your app has been approved for these APIs, you will receive an alert in your App Dashboard inbox asking you to complete business verification.

What should I try next?

I just did this. You need to click on the links and follow the pages to your Developer Business Account (https://business.facebook.com/settings/info/?business_id=[your business ID]), and Verify your business with a 2-step authentication. FB will call or Text you. They also verify your business address with USPS (if you are in the United States).

The calls did not work for the first 2 times, first it cut-off the number, then it didn't answer correctly. But it DID WORK on the 3rd attempt by me. (note for FB here)

Then you need to go and find the Contract, and have it SENT to your email. The UX on this is NOT EASILY CLEAR. To find the contract, scroll down the Developer Business Settings Page (same link as above).

Then open your email and click the link to review and Sign the contract.

I hope this gets more clear in the future. It's took me over 2 hours to build and new ScreenCast, Submit our App for the 3rd time and do this verification. Hopefully it works for us this time.

Good Luck to you. If you have further questions, post them and I'll see if I can answer them.

Sorry but it did not help. Button "Start verification" on page https://business.facebook.com/settings/security?business_id=425427881578208 is grayed out, so I cannot click it. Look at my screenshot attached.

Hi Just went through this. Facebook support was very unhelpful honestly. This is the workaround that worked for me

  1. Make sure you have completed your business information on the settings -> About section of the business manager page
  2. Turn on 2-factor authorisation for your admin users
  3. If the option still doesn't appear - go to the facebook developer page and create an app - https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
  4. Associate the new app with your Facebook Business Page
  5. In your App dashboard - go to settings and basic and scroll down to business verificatio
  6. Click on verify here - for some absurd reason it works! - you will need to upload tax documents etc to verify

Hope this helps

Wow. Thank you for posting this. It works. Trying to get help through Facebook has been impossible. This is a bug, among many, that keeps business owners from paying them money. You'd think they would fix it.

@king When you create a facebook app (select business in type of app), afterwards, it will automatically ask you to select the business you want to associate your app with. The initial app setup will ask you.

Hi Akshay,

This doesn't work for me. I have done this for multiple customers of mine but for this one customer is doesn't work. Is there anything else that we can do?

Same issue happening since a few days! Apparently Facebook is making some changes in the process. Did someone understand what could be the reason why for some Business Manager accounts this doesn't work anymore? I was thinking it could be related to the fact the BM account doesn't have a page associated to it or because it's new. Any suggestions?

Thank you, Akshay, this worked for me. Really appreciate the detailed instructions.

Pam, I'm not sure why this didn't work for you but a couple of surprises that I encountered: the upload button was at the very bottom of the page and is easy to miss. Also, the accepted document file types are limited (jpg, png, webIP), which helped to explain why my previous verification attempts via the FB regular upload app were unsuccessful. Good luck to you!

Achint

Pamela, I got you. So what you have to do now is create an app (the game type works the easiest) and submit THE APP for review by using an API that requires app verification. App review application includes submitting a video and answering many questions. I downloaded some random video from the internet and uploaded it. I filled in all the data with dummy values and submitted the app for review. Once you do all that, the business verification button will become enabled.

Hi Achit! Please could you explain a bit more on “” I downloaded some random video from the internet and uploaded it. I filled in all the data with dummy values”” as I’m a marketer for my own small businesses and don’t know anything about games at all. Thanks in advance:)
