This week we announced two developer tools to make it easier for developers to build on Facebook Platform, the updated Developer App (available to a limited set of developers), and the Graph API Explorer and concluded the Facebook Credits Migration.
Adding non-friends in any role to the Developer App
As part of the update to Developer App we wanted to call out a feature which has been a repeated ask from developers. You can now add non-friends to any role in the Developer App via email address. This has been a significant pain point as developers often need to give access to their clients or other beta testers and were unable to do so without becoming friends with them first.

JavaScript SDK with OAuth now available for upgrade on July 20
As part of our Developer Roadmap, we announced that we will update the PHP SDK and JavaScript SDK to support OAuth on July 1st. We managed to get the PHP SDK out early on May 20. However, we are still working on the JavaScript SDK and anticipate releasing it July 20. Thank you for your patience and we’re working hard to ensure that you will no or minimal changes to your apps.
New Comments Box Features: Sort Preference and Boosted Comments
This week we also announced that the Comments Box is now on more than 300k sites, and has two new features:
Sort preference. By default, comments are ordered to show users the most relevant comments from friends, friends of friends, and the most liked or active discussion threads. We now give users the option to change the ordering to chronological and reverse chronological as shown below.
Boosted comments. Sites admins often request the ability to boost or pin stories at the top of of the Comments Box. We have implemented this feature because it improves the overall quality of discussion. If a moderator clicks like
a comment is boosted. If a user is logged out of Facebook, the Comments Box will render comments liked by moderators first. If a user is logged into Facebook, the Comments Box will continue to show friends’ comments first followed by comments boosted by moderators.
New force_wall
option for Place Like Box
You can now force your Like Box for a Place Page to always show the wall for your Place.
We have added a new field to Like Box called force_wall
which specifies whether the stream contains posts from the Place's wall or just checkins from friends. The default is false.

Removing Bookmarks from section App Insights
We are removing the Bookmarks section in the Application Insights Dashboard under Users tab. Users cannot explicitly add bookmarks to apps anymore. The bookmarks are now implicit based on usage and hence insights data for users adding bookmarks is irrelevant.
