Platform Updates: Bug Progress, Graph API Improvements and More

By Jeff Bowen

Operation Developer Love
As we mentioned last week, we are working hard to improve our response to bugs and the other issues you have raised with Facebook Platform. We are reporting our progress on bugs every week and will add the forum response rate next week.

In the past 7 days:

  • 131 new bugs were reported in Bugzilla
  • 40 bugs were reproducible and accepted (after duplicates removed)
  • 19 bugs were fixed (18 previously reported bugs and 1 new bug)
  • As of today, there are 4,556 open bugs in Bugzilla

Publishing using the Graph API
In our continued effort to bring the Graph API’s functionality to parity with the old REST API, the Graph API now supports publishing with an app-specified action link and custom privacy settings. These features were previously only available using the old REST API. You can find more details on the Graph API’s Post reference page.

Insights for Domains
Insights for Domains is now accessible via the API. You can access the data using either the Graph API or Insights FQL table. To help you get started, we built a sample application for you to download.

Minor API change for Pages that a user admins
This Wednesday, we will make a minor change to the "page_admin" FQL table and the Graph API user object. In addition to the Pages that a user admins, we will begin returning the Application Profile Pages corresponding to the applications that the user administers. This should not break any applications, since it's only additive, but we wanted to give you advance notice so that you are prepared for this change.
