Announcing Developer Tools MCP: Explore and debug your Meta app integrations from your AI agent

By Zoë Lieberman

Your AI agent now speaks to Meta's developer platform

If you build on Meta's APIs, you know what takes time: searching docs to find the right endpoint, checking your developer dashboard for required actions, trying to figure out why an API call is failing. This context switching pulls you out of your code.

Developer Tools MCP changes that. It's an MCP server that connects your Service Provider AI coding agent (Claude, Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT) to Meta developer platform information, directly in your workflow. You don't need to learn new tools or check another dashboard – it runs inside your existing editor.

What Developer Tools MCP does

Developer Tools MCP exposes Meta's developer platform as MCP tools your agent can query. Here's what that means in practice:

API discovery through conversation

Describe a use case to your agent ("Help me setup an integration for Whatsapp business") and Developer Tools MCP returns information about relevant Graph API endpoints, required permissions, and language-specific code samples.

Troubleshooting with platform intelligence

Paste an API error into your agent. Developer Tools MCP references live platform logic, changelog history, and known error patterns to deliver specific resolution steps.

App status & health visibility

Check your app settings, platform details, API usage, and health status without logging into the Dev Center. Developer Tools MCP gives your agent visibility into your app configuration, so you can quickly determine whether a problem is in your code or your platform setup.

Required actions status at a glance

Data Access Renewal deadlines shouldn't catch you off guard. Developer Tools MCP surfaces your compliance status, required actions, and enforcement timelines directly in your agent's context. Instead of finding out your app lost access because you missed an email, your agent proactively flags what needs attention and when action is required.

Webhook debugging

Inspect your webhook subscriptions and troubleshoot delivery issues through your agent. Get visibility into subscription status and event configuration all in one place.

Get started

Developer Tools MCP works with MCP-compatible agents (Claude, Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT). To connect:

  1. Install Developer Tools MCP configuration in your agent
  2. Authenticate with your Meta app credentials
  3. Start prompting. Ask your agent what tools are available with list_tools

Your agent handles the rest.

More implementation details can be found here. A feedback form will be included in the tool, but can also be found for reference here.

The availability of tools are limited and subject to change.
