Marketing API: Latest Updates for Ads on Threads

Threads is growing fast with more than 400 million monthly active users connecting by openly sharing and building on each other’s perspectives. Following our recent global expansion, we’re excited to share the latest updates to the Threads Marketing API, enabling partners and advertisers to adopt new ad features and tools for enhanced campaign performance and moderation.

What’s New?

  • App Ads now supported: You can now buy App ads on Threads through the Marketing API globally. Supported objectives include APP_INSTALLS and App event optimization for LINK_CLICKS or CONVERSIONS. Threads feed placement allows you to expand your app campaign reach using existing ad image, video, or carousel assets—no bespoke creative required. See here for developer documentation.
  • Reply Moderation Tooling: View, hide, and reply to top-level replies on your Threads ads. Reply moderation lets you manage the conversation on your ads by reading replies, hiding content, and adding your own replies. To use these endpoints, your app must have the ads_read or ads_management permission granted for the ad account that owns the ad. Ads_read is required for viewing replies, ads_management is required for hiding and replying to top-level replies. See here for developer documentation.
