Introducing New Getting Started Guide and App Review Design

December 17, 2018ByVijay Natarajan

We're improving the experience of building on the Facebook platform with a new getting started guide that surfaces educational resources and helps developers navigate the process of onboarding. To make the app review process easier for developers, we're also launching a new design that breaks down the process into three manageable steps.

New getting started guide:

When developers visit their app dashboard, they'll now see common use cases and scenarios to get started with integrating their app to the Facebook platform.

Note: Developers can skip this step if they're already prepared to start building, and are not limited to these three options.

Once developers get started, they can use the resource guide in the dashboard to learn about using the Facebook platform APIs. If a developer just started with the process of connecting to the platform, we recommend reviewing the guidance on permissions, App Review and verification.

New App Review design:

We've listened to feedback from developers that the app review process can be cumbersome and complex, and we've created a new workflow with three manageable steps:

  • An overview of permissions and features: Use this comprehensive table to understand permissions and which ones you should request.
  • An overview of your current status: View the status of your app review request or verification status.
  • Your approved permissions: Once you've requested certain permissions, see a list of your approved permissions and features.

We're committed to supporting our developers and providing the best support and resources for building on our platform. Learn more about our Facebook platform APIs and how you can use them to build your business or app.
