You just built a great game. Now what? The biggest challenge for developers is getting discovered. No need to worry. With over 1 billion people on Facebook, we have the tools you need to reach the right audience on web or mobile for your game.
The App Center makes it easy for developers to get discovered by the right audience and grow their game. People can jump to the App Center quickly from their bookmarks. A centralized games section is dedicated to players to discover the latest and greatest games. People can browse by categories like action, casino, or puzzle games. New gamers can try apps that their friends play and find compatible apps based on their device or platform.
Every app featured in the App Center has its own app detail page that shows what makes it unique. App detail pages help drive engaged customers to your game with screenshots of the experience and one click to start using your app. After a user authenticates from an app detail page, they’ll be sent directly into the app.
If a mobile app requires installation, people will be sent to download it from the App Store or Google Play.
To get started with creating your presence on App Center, please read: App Center for Games.
New and existing players can find your game by simply searching for it. Your game is automatically submitted to Facebook's search index when more than 10 people use your app. When more people play your game, your app becomes more easily discoverable within Facebook search.
Login allows players to sign in to your game with a personalized and consistent experience on mobile and desktop. You can also drive broader awareness and adoption when players authorize Facebook permissions to publish game actions that are shared with friends on News Feed and Timeline.
To optimize a good player experience and conversion for your app, go to: Facebook Login docs.
Once a player logs into your game, your app will automatically get bookmarked for players to see on both mobile and web. Bookmarks appear on the left-hand side of the desktop version or the top left corner on mobile, and allow people to easily jump back to your game from within Facebook.
When playing your game on Facebook.com, people will see these bookmarks in the top right hand corner of the page. In addition, recommended games allow people on Facebook.com to prominently see new games to try, making this a primary driver for new installs. This is an additional benefit for games that appear on Facebook.com only. Colorful icons of recommended games are prominently displayed in the right-hand corner to potential gamers on the web.
When people begin playing your game, they can share the news with their friends. Playing Stories appear in friends' news feeds, which help your app get discovered among a broader audience. Players must give specific publishing permissions to your app in order to generate Playing Stories, but no further developer integration is required.
A person's timeline can contain app and activity-driven sections. These are called collections and it let them express to the world the things that they care about. One of the default collections Facebook provides is a Games collection, which shows the recent games users play either on Canvas or mobile. In order to leverage this channel, users must be able to login with Facebook in your game. In addition, you should make sure you have a page associated with your game in the Facebook app settings.
