Jeff BowenSorry for the confusion, but just like News Feed, the selection of which stories to show on timelines and in the ticker is non-deterministic for actions which are not explicitly shared (
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/explicit_sharing/). We are no longer showing content consumption actions (including the built-in actions "news.read" and "video.watch") in the ticker or the "Recent Activity" section on Timeline as we've deemed showing these actions in these contexts a poor user experience. However, these actions can still show up in aggregations on Timeline and in News Feed. As always, for non-explicitly-shared actions, we will determine when and where to show them based on their quality pertaining to the user experience.
Please note, you should stop publishing these actions by February 6th as on that date we will no longer display these actions anywhere and will return an error when you try to publish them. For more information, check out the Roadmap (
https://developers.facebook.com/roadmap/#custom-consumption-actions).
