Correction: Filtering by locale was supported previously for stream search but it looks like a change broke the functionality. We are working on a fix. The fix will be taking some time, we will post updates here on the progress.

The locale parameter was originally designed to return the Facebook strings that are translatable into the specified locale (for example gender:female for EN-US becomes gender:femme for FR-FR), but it was not originally designed to filter the result set by locale. Based on the resounding feedback on this issue, we're looking at filtering the results by locale to align better with expected behavior. We'll provide an update here soon.

Hello,

This behavior is by design.

The locale parameter only returns Facebook strings that are translatable into the specified locale, everything else stays the same. It does not filter the content returned by search by locale.

We will update the documentation to clarify and reflect this behavior.

Hello,

I've been having some trouble with the graph API this last week.
The search ignores the locale I pass as a parameter and returns me posts in other languages.
Can you please fix it?
